Why is MW4 bringing back Campaign Early Access?
Call of Duty fans have seen a lot of launch gimmicks over the years, but this one actually feels useful. With MW4 Boosting already getting attention from players who want to stay ahead of the curve, the return of Campaign Early Access gives digital pre-order owners something they can use right away. If you buy the Standard Digital Edition or the Vault Edition, you'll be able to jump into the story on October 16, a full week before the global launch on October 23. That is a proper head start, and for a lot of people, it changes how they plan their first week with the game.

Who gets early access, and what does it actually include?
The short answer is: anyone who pre-orders digitally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, or Nintendo Switch 2. Activision has made this one broader than some of the older Call of Duty offers, where early access was tied to the pricier version and not much else. Here, both digital editions get the same campaign window. That means more players can start early, take their time, and avoid the usual race through the story once multiplayer chatter starts taking over every feed and forum thread.

Why do players care so much about a campaign head start?
Because the campaign often gets squeezed out. A lot of people mean to play it properly, then launch week hits and the multiplayer queues, loadouts, and social stuff take over. You know how it goes. A week of early access gives the story some breathing room. It also lets players talk about missions, pacing, and character moments without everything being drowned out by competitive mode talk. The downside is obvious too. Spoilers will be everywhere, and if you wait for launch day, there is a good chance someone online will have already posted the big beats.

What makes this Modern Warfare story feel different?
Infinity Ward has been talking up the campaign as one of its biggest swings yet, and the setting alone is doing a lot of the work. The story is set around a North Korean invasion of South Korea, with players stepping into the boots of Private Park, a young soldier caught in the middle of it all. Old favourites like Captain Price and Ghost are in the mix too, but the focus seems to be on a wider crisis rather than just another familiar squad mission. It sounds like the studio wants the campaign to feel grounded, but still big enough to carry the sort of set pieces fans expect from Modern Warfare.

What does this say about Infinity Ward's launch plan?
It feels like a clear signal. Campaign Early Access is back, DMZ is returning, and the multiplayer side is being rebuilt with more than a few tweaks. That is not the usual "same thing, new box" approach people complain about. The whole package looks like a push to get players invested early and keep them there. For fans who have been waiting for a stronger reason to pre-order, this week-long story window may end up being the thing that tips them over. And if you're already eyeing extra help for the grind later on, CoD 23 Boosting has already become part of that wider conversation around how people want to start strong in Modern Warfare 4.
